We couldn’t wait to get our hands on The Gruffalo Granny, and after all the hype and build-up on the shop website and socials, it absolutely did not disappoint! So many familiar characters, wonderfully comforting rhymes and that unmistakable Julia Donaldson magic. I honestly didn’t think she could do it again, but she’s done it brilliantly. I know we’ll be reading this one over and over for years to come. A must-have for every children’s book collection!
Lazt night my 2 kids and I climbed into 1 bed for their bedtime story. Granny Gruffalo was a delightful read with lovely references to other books. The kids were so excited naming them out 🥰 Definitely a must have for Julia fans. Amazing illustrations as always by Alex.
I was introduced to The Gruffalo when I was teaching in Libya many many years ago! One of the children brought the book in and ever since then our house has been filled with Julia Donaldson’s books. I think I buy them more for myself than my kids! My youngest is 6 and we were sooo excited to hear about the Gruffalo Granny and could not wait to add it to our collection. It really did not disappoint! The flow of the story, Axel’s beautiful illustrations, the rhyme and the pleasant recognisable surprises through the pages (don’t want to give away any spoilers 😅) made it so enjoyable to read. I didn’t want the book to end! Also, the Gruffalo Granny reminds my little one of his granny! She carries her bag and has a similar stick that we found and collected one time while walking in the “deep dark wood”!
