Olive's story is one of resilience and courage. As a child, she moved from the countryside in Jamaica to the bustling streets of 1970s London, where she quickly realized the challenges of growing up in Britain during that era.

Her life took a pivotal turn when she witnessed a distressing incident of police brutality towards a Black man and, without hesitation, came to his aid. This act of bravery led to her own arrest, but it marked the beginning of her journey as a leader within the Black British community.

Olive was unwavering in her commitment to fighting against all forms of abuse and standing up against racism. She refused to be silenced or let the injustices she faced as a Black woman hinder her. Olive played a significant role in establishing the first Black bookshops in Britain and dedicated much of her life to advocating for the rights of her community.

Her fearless determination served as an inspiration and a driving force for positive change within the Black British community. Olive's story is a testament to the power of resilience, activism, and unwavering commitment to justice and equality.
