Bel's nervous about spending Christmas with her grandma at Lamont House, a sheltered living complex made from a grand Victorian home. The mansion is stunning, but also spooky with its shifting shadows and strange sounds. One night, Bel spots a cat roaming the grounds, even though pets aren't allowed. She follows its snowy footprints and is suddenly transported to the past, where she meets a Victorian girl named Charlotte. Charlotte's little sister, Sara, is sick and she's been searching for her missing cat, Snow. Bel is determined to help, but time is ticking and Snow is still missing.
